If you want to become a mushroom grower, we offer the opportunity to grow your own mushrooms at home by purchasing an oyster mushroom or lion's mane mushroom growing kit. To become a successful mushroom grower and ensure a bountiful harvest, it is important to prepare and create suitable growing conditions for mushrooms. The weight of the mushroom set is almost 3 kilograms, and its height is 270 mm, which allows you to grow a significant amount of mushrooms even at home.
If the mushrooms have started to grow, they will also grow at warmer temperatures, but will be of poorer quality and yellow, wilted/shriveled
Grow mushrooms yourself
Gray oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus ostreatus) are easy to grow at home using a special grow kit. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to grow gray oyster mushrooms:
1. Preparation of the kit:
Choose a place: Place the kit in a place with good humidity and moderate temperature. The temperature varies for different types of mushrooms. Avoid direct sunlight.
Check the substrate: Open the package and check that the substrate is moist and compact. If it seems too dry, you can moisten a little with water.
2. Start of cultivation:
Make ventilation holes: With a sharp knife, make some small holes in the package of the kit for ventilation. Openings can be made in several places.
Moisturization: Lightly spray water on the surface and openings of the kit daily. This will help maintain a high level of humidity, which is necessary for mushroom growth.
3. Appearance of the first mushrooms:
Watch closely: After a few days to a week, you will begin to notice small mushrooms growing from the openings.
Moisture Maintenance: Continue to moisturize daily to promote fungal growth. If the room is particularly dry, you can use a plastic bag or tent to create a mini-greenhouse effect around the set.
4. Harvesting:
Time to harvest: Once the mushrooms have grown to full size, usually in 1-2 weeks, they are ready to harvest. The mushrooms should be picked carefully, turning them gently and pulling them out of the substrate.
Additional Harvests: After the first harvest, continue to moisten the kit. Usually 2-3 additional harvests are possible with a few days to a week between each harvest.
5. Kit maintenance:
Rest period: After each harvest, the set may require a few days of rest before the next harvest. Continue to moisturize it regularly and keep it in a favorable environment.
Use of the kit: When the kit is no longer productive, you can use the substrate as a fertilizer in the garden or compost.
By following these instructions, you'll be able to enjoy a fresh harvest of gray oyster mushrooms right in your own home!
